MyraMath is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. You can visit gnu.org to learn about this license. In lay terms, distributing MyraMath under the GPL means that everyone is free to use and redistribute it within open-source projects that are also licensed under the GPL (or another license compatible with the GPL). However, MyraMath is not in the public domain. It is copyrighted and the GPL places copyleft-style restrictions on its distribution.
If you'd like to incorporate MyraMath into closed-source software, great! We want that too. Non-copyleft licenses (compatible with closed source projects) for MyraMath are available for purchase, contact licensing@myracore.com to obtain a quote. MyraMath is not cheap, but if you need a modern, parallelized, sparse direct solver that you can modify and customize for your commercial products, MyraMath will save you money. Try it out!
Note that MyraMath depends upon a BLAS/LAPACK layer, so first you might want download MyraKL for an open-source implementation. MyraMath also depends upon MyraTest for unit testing, but it's single-header-only and already included in the myramath.zip link above.
